Polaris NH2 HPLC column with inner diameter 4.6 mm, length 100 mm and particle size 5.0 µm.
Polaris NH2 is an aminopropylsilane-bonded silica that can be used under reversed-phase or normal-phase conditions. The selectivity of amino columns differs significantly from that of C18 columns, making them ideal for polar samples that are difficult to analyze. In addition, amino columns are generally more suitable for the analysis of carbohydrates than polymer-based ion exchange columns. The typical mobile phase for this analysis is acetonitrile/water. In normal phase mode, the separation is similar to unbound silica gel, but the equilibration time during the gradient is much shorter and the column lifetime is longer.
