Cell culture treated microplates are available in 96, 384 and 1536 well formats. Depending on the application, the well geometry is a decisive criterion for a 96-well cell culture microplate. Like the standard F-bottom cell culture microplate, the chimney-style cell culture microplate has flat-bottomed wells. The difference to the standard cell culture microplate is the chimney-like arrangement of the wells. Each bowl stands for itself. The risk of contamination due to carryover of sample material is minimized. "Clear bottom" microplates are microtiter plates with pigmented walls and a thin film bottom, the so-called μClear® bottom. These are manufactured using a patented process and, in contrast to our standard microplates with a solid PS or PP bottom, are particularly suitable for applications in the fields of cell culture and microscopy. The reduction of the sample volume is an important criterion for many applications in the laboratory. The 96 well half area microplates offer an interesting alternative here. They can be easily pipetted by hand, but at the same time allow a 50% reduction in sample volume.
