Honeywell was founded in the USA in 1885, initially focussing on automation solutions for temperature control in buildings. Today, the conglomerate based in Morris Plains, New Jersey, is active in the chemical, industrial, building and aerospace sectors, among others.
The ‘Research Chemicals’ business unit specialises in the production of chemicals for chromatography and pharmaceuticals. Solvents and inorganics for general laboratory requirements are sold under the Honeywell brand: The range includes high-performance solvents for HPLC, for histology as well as reagent-grade solvents for chemical synthesis and other industrial applications. The inorganics range includes essential acids and bases, salts, metals and elements as well as reagents for chemical reactions.
At Analytics-Shop you will also find the Honeywell Research Chemicals brands Fluka® chemicals and reagents (a Sigma-Aldrich brand until 2016), Burdick & Jackson and Riedel-de Haën.
The takeover of Sigma-Aldrich by Merck was accompanied by conditions imposed by the antitrust authorities. In order to fulfil these requirements, Fluka Solvents was sold to Honeywell. You can still obtain all Fluka solvents under this brand name in the Analytics-Shop.
