AMIES TRANSPORT LIQUID MEDIUM is a liquid transport medium for the sampling and preservation of aerobic, anaerobic and other fastidious bacteria such as Streptococcus pyogenes, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Bacteroides fragilis, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumonia, etc. within 48 hours (24 hours for Neisseria gonorrhoeae) at room or refrigerator temperature. They can be used for the collection and preservation of mycobacteria and fungi. Amies is a preservation medium consisting of inorganic phosphate, calcium and magnesium salts and sodium chloride.
