IDEXX tests are simple and economical tests for wastewater discharge compliance testing. IDEXX Coliform E. coli and Enterococcus tests have EPA approval and Colilert®-18 / Quanti-Tray® have been adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as new standard 9308-2:2012.

IDEXX Colilert® Test

The IDEXX Colilert® test is used worldwide for the detection of coliforms and E. coli. Colilert uses patented Defined Substrate Technology® (DST®) to simultaneously detect the total number of coliforms and E. coli. The two nutrient indicators, ONPG and MUG, are the main sources of carbon in Colilert and can be metabolised by the Coliform enzyme β-galactosidase and the E. coli enzyme β-glucuronidase, respectively. IDEXX Colilert® test is extremely reliable and approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In addition, the test has been included in the Standard Methods for Examination of Water and Wastewater.

IDEXX Enterolert® Test

The IDEXX Enterolert test provides detection of enterococci in a 100 ml format. The Enterolert® test provides accurate overnight results so you can respond quickly and protect the public or public resources:

  • Detect enterococcal contamination in half the time than standard methods.
  • Bathing beaches can be reopened in as little as 24 hours.
  • No lengthy membrane filtration required.
