For nearly every chemical, biological or medical application various types of flasks, like volumetric flasks or Erlenmeyer flasks, are needed. We provide a wide range of materials, e.g. glass (borosilicate), PP, PMP or PETG. Thereby all products of the renowned manufacturers Duran, Hirschmann, Vitlab, Nalgene Thermo Scientific and Brand can be ordered.
If there are any questions about graduated flasks and Erlenmeyer flasks of any producer, please contact us personally. Our qualified staff will help to find the best flask for your application,
Volumetric flasks by Brand (BLAUBRAND) are made from borosilicate glass to offer a high level of precision. Only a strict and statistical quality assurance enable the high quality level. Unless otherwise requested, all BLAUBRAND graduated flasks are delivered with a square stopper out of PP with drain tip. These stopper are reducing the danger of breaking significantly and furthermore avoid roll off from the laboratory bench.
Additionally BLAUBRAND volumetric flasks of Brand are delivered with a batch number as well as a batch certificate per original packaging. On request the flasks are also available with an individual certificate or a DAkks calibration certification. Except for wide neck bottles the volumetric flasks are can also be delivered with individual or batch USP certificate.
The following table shows a detailed description of the most common BLAUBRAND volumetric flasks.

Volumetric flasks by Nalgene Thermo Scientific are combining the precision of standard glass flasks with the breakage safety of synthetics. Every graduated flask is individually gravimetrically calibrated at 20 °C for inlet and discharge. The imprint is durable and does not wear off. A volumetric flask of this producer corresponds guaranteed the precision requirements of norm ASTM E288 as well as ISO 284. The volume can be read out fast and exact without a meniscus. Additionally the flasks of Nalgene Thermo Scientific are characterized by an oval marking surface. Before autoclave it is recommended to screw off the closure.
The properties of each material (PP, PMP) referred to the specific volume can be found in the following table.

The Erlenmeyer flasks of Nalgene Thermo Scientific offers a unbreakable and recyclable alternative for glass flasks. Furthermore these flasks are autoclavable and suited for biological applications. Products based on PTFE are also available as sterile and individually packaged variants. Thermo Scientific Erlenmeyer flasks made from PETG can also be delivered with ventilated screwing. There are two variants differentiated, with chicanes or with flat bottom.
Latter Erlenmeyer flasks of Thermo Scientific are mainly used for reconditioning and storage of culture media and several culture processes. Thereby the transparent material allows to view the substance.
Erlenmeyer flasks with chicanes increase the mixing and provide growing rates for E. coli and S. cerevisiae comparable to glass flasks.
The following table shows the most common sizes of Erlenmeyer flasks provided by Thermo Scientific, as well as the different materials used and the availability of flasks with chicanes or flat bottom.

Graduated flasks of Vitlab are available with the synthetics PMP, PFA and PP. All materials are highly transparent and can be delivered with tolerance classes A and B (pursuant DIN EN ISO 1042). The annular mark of each graduated flask is individually adjusted to ’In’. To save the imprinting it is recommended to clean at a max. temperature of 60 °C. Temperatures up to 60 °C wont cause any changes to the tolerance of PP flasks, whereas volumetric flasks made from PFA or PMP are stable up to 121 °C and can be autoclaved. Please consider the corresponding chemical resistance of each material. On request a DAkks calibration certificate or an individual certificate can be ordered too.

The Erlenmeyer flasks of Vitlab are made from the materials PP and PMP and are transparent. Additionally all flasks are characterized by a wide neck and can be used with a NS stopper, if needed (PP stopper has to be ordered separate). These containers are especially suited for storage and cultivation of cell cultures.
Particularly in case of working with incubator shakers the increased breakage safety toward glass offers many advantages. To save the imprinting it is recommended by Vitlab to clean the Erlenmeyer flasks at a max. temperature of 60 °C.
