Water baths are used in laboratories for exact automatic temperature regulation. With the lab baths you can thaw samples or achieve chemical reactions within a certain temperature range. We carry laboratory baths from Memmert made of stainless steel, water baths from Dinkelberg Analytics made of PP and other water baths from Funke Gerber and IDL. We also offer accessories for laboratory baths such as lids and insert racks. Further, we carry mash baths (malt testers) for the brewery, dairy and food industry from Dinkelberg analytics.
Water baths are used in laboratories for tempering, incubation or inactivation. Typical applications for water and oil baths are the tempering of ointments and emulsions, the tempering and incubation of cultures, the tempering of samples, plates and culture media in laboratories as well as fermentation and homogenization. The baths are also used for corrosion and material testing and for heating substances in reaction vessels (beakers, flasks, etc.). Mash baths (malt testers) are used in the brewery, dairy and food industry. At Analytics-Shop.com we offer mash baths from Dinkelberg analytics.
There are a few aspects to consider when choosing the right water bath:
The water bath WTB from Memmert stands for high precision, safety and comfort and is the successor model of the water baths WNB / WNE / WPE from Memmert. The water bath can be calibrated for particularly precise temperature setting. Thanks to the modular concept, the waterbaths can be used with great flexibility: if necessary, the circulation pump, cooling unit, shaking device, as well as test tube holders or insert racks can be easily retrofitted. The touchscreen can be operated intuitively and conveniently, and with the customizable CustomView remote view, the important information is always kept in view.
Application areas | Tempering of ointments, emulsions, samples, plates and nutrient solutions as well as warm storage and calibration |
Temperature range | up to +100 °C |
Model sizes | 6 / 11 / 15 / 24 / 35 / 50 |
The Memmert WTB waterbaths have a high-quality stainless steel tub with rounded corners. With the standard drain cock, you can empty the water bath completely without tipping.
The CDP115 Peltier cooling device is simply placed on all Memmert waterbath models. This enables precise working with temperatures below room temperature with an accuracy of ±0.1 Kelvin. The installation / connection kit is ordered separately.
Heating from three sides enables optimum temperature homogeneity in Memmert waterbaths. At 95 °C water temperature, the deviation in the entire bath is less than 0.36 °C. The type of construction creates a natural turbulence and thus a better temperature distribution.
If a constant water level is required, the Memmert temperature control bath can optionally be equipped with a water level equalisation system. The bath is connected to the water supply system with hoses and is continuously supplied with additional dripping water. The water level can be maintained at two alternative levels by means of a water overflow.
The laboratory baths of Dinkelberg analytics are made of white polypropylene (PP) and are universally applicable. PP is light, odorless and skin-friendly. The water baths ECOTHERM from Dinkelberg analytics are suitable for applications in the food and pharmaceutical industry, physiologically harmless and easy to clean. Essential advantages of the waterbaths are the durability, the excellent thermal insulation and the high thermal stability. Numerous standard-wheel sizes with bath contents from 5 l to 70 l and power classes from 500 to 3000 Watt are available. The U models are equipped with a smooth running circulating pump (output 8 l/min) to achieve improved temperature distribution within the bath.
Temperature range | Up to 95 °C |
Switching accuracy | +/- 0.1 °C |
Working temperature | 0 to 55 °C |
Storage temperature | -10 to 60 °C |
Humidity | Max. 75 %, non-condensing |
Power supply | 230 V/50 Hz |
The water baths have a digital timer with adjustable holding time (0.5 - 99.5 hours). They can also be used as a simple incubator, are easy to use and have a high quality finish.
The laboratory baths offer a high level of safety by detecting sensor breakage and too low water levels. In addition, the mechanical overtemperature limiter automatically triggers the switch-off when the maximum operating temperature is reached. The timer also allows you to select the switch-off time. Each water bath is safety-tested and CE-conform.
If you wish to have special dimensions (different basin dimensions, cover cut-outs with ring sets, etc.), these can be custom-made for you. Also covers with hinge mounting, inlet and/or overflow connection, drain cocks and standpipe valves of the right-hand control section are possible. Fell free to cantact us!
In laboratory practice, water baths that can be expanded modularly and are therefore flexible in use have proven their worth. If required for your application, the Memmert WTB waterbaths can be easily retrofitted with a circulation pump, cooling unit, shaker and test tube holder or insert rack.
Optional accessories are also available from Dinkelberg analytics: The waterbaths can be retrofitted with insert racks for butyrometers, test tubes, bottles etc. or with an underwater shaking insert. In addition, numerous flat and slanted lids and circulation pumps are available in the Analytics-Shop. For working temperatures above 60 °C, the use of a lid for the water bath is recommended. We recommend the use of lids as they save approx. 35 % of the energy and avoid condensate in the laboratory.
An optional electronically controlled shaking device transforms your bath into a shaking water bath. The speed can be adjusted from 35 to 160 strokes per minute for horizontal movements. Maximum safety is also provided here: Electronic anti-trap protection shuts down the motor in a fraction of a second if a sudden load is applied.
The shakers are available in two sizes for the WTB15 / WTB24 waterbaths or for WTB35 / WTB50. The basket is ordered separately in each case.
Mash baths (malt tester) are used in the brewery, dairy and food industry. Malt baths from Dinkelberg analytics have proven themselves over many years: The high quality and durable mash baths are made of polypropylene (PP) and are therefore more space-saving and lighter than comparable products from other manufacturers. At the same time these products are a cost-effective option. The product features include:
