A medium for the cultivation and isolation of fastidious germs. Zones of hemolysis become clearly visible. Isolate and culture fastidious microorganisms with clearly visible hemolytic reactions (staphylococci and streptococci) in a culture medium containing sheep blood. Thermo Scientific™ Columbia Agar with Sheep Blood promotes hemolysis typical of Staphylococcus aureus and allows growth typical of Streptococcus pneumonia (central indented morphology).
