Isolate and differentiate Pseudomonas aeruginosa selectively using Thermo Scientific™ Pseudomonas C-N Selective Agar (cetrimide agar) prepared plates. Pseudomonas aeruginosa produces a characteristic light green color on the medium. Pseudomonas C-N Selective Agar (Cetrimide Agar) is used for the selective isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from a range of samples. The formula was described by Goto and Enomoto following the demonstration of cetrimide as a selective agent by Lowbury and Collins. Cetrimide is a quaternary ammonium compound with bactericidal activity against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and some gram-negative organisms.
