Restek chemists were the first to combine the speed of surface porous particles (also known as SPP or "core-shell" particles) with the resolution of highly selective USLC technology. This new generation of chromatographic columns allows you to achieve better peak separations and shorter analysis times with existing HPLC and UHPLC instruments.
Designed specifically for use in LC-MS/MS systems, the Raptor ARC-18 column offers a balanced retention profile without the drawbacks of an ordinary C18 column in the aggressive, acidic mobile phases required for mass spectrometry (MS). Even after prolonged use in these low pH (≤2.0) conditions, the sterically protected ARC-18 provides consistent retention, peak shape, and response for charged bases, neutral acids, small polar compounds, and other substances. For rapid analysis of large multiclass assays using LC-MS/MS, the acid-resistant Raptor ARC-18 is truly ahead of the curve.
Stationary phase category: C18, octadecylsilane (L1)
Ligand type: Sterically protected C18
Particle size: 1.8 µm, 2.7 µm, or 5 µm surface porous silica (SPP or "core-shell")
Pore size: 90 Å
Carbon loading: 7 % (1.8 µm), 7 % (2.7 μm), 5 % (5 μm)
Endcapping: no
Surface area: 125 m2/g (1.8 µm), 130 m2/g (2.7 µm), or 100 m2/g (5 µm)
Recommended use:
pH range: 1.0-8.0
Maximum temperature: 80 °C
Maximum pressure: 1034 bar/15000 psi (1.8 μm), 600 bar/8700 psi (2.7 μm); 400 bar/5800 psi (5 μm). For maximum service life, the maximum recommended pressure for 1.8 μm sized particles is 830 bar/12000 psi.
Features:
Balanced retention profile.
Sterically protected and acid resistant to withstand aggressive low pH mobile phases.
Ideal for use with sensitive detectors such as mass spectrometers.
Switch to ARC-18 LC column when:
you analyze large, multi-class lists by LC-MS/MS.
strongly acidic mobile phases (pH 1-3) are required.
Note: We strongly recommend that you only order a semi-preparative or preparative column once you have evaluated the desired separation on an equivalent column on an analytical scale.
Because we cannot reuse a column or the silica within it once it leaves our facility, we cannot accept returns of large columns.
