Caustic potash (potassium hydroxide) is present here in white flakes, which have a hygroscopic effect. The flakes should therefore be stored in a dry place. In water, the scales dissolve to form the strong base potassium hydroxide solution under high heat development. Caustic potash flakes are a technical grade. Mainly used in cleaning agents and in the production of soft soap.
