Use the Thermo Scientific™ MSTFA and MSTFA + 1% TMCS Silylation Reagent for GC analysis of early eluting compounds that otherwise remain obscured in the chromatogram. MSTFA, the most volatile TMS amide available, and its by-product N-methyltrifluoroacetamide typically elute with the solvent front, allowing analysis of TMS derivatives of small molecules. The addition of Thermo Scientific™ TMCS supports the derivatization of amides, secondary amines, and hindered hydroxyls that cannot be derivatized with MSTFA alone.
