Whatman WME cellulose mixed ester membranes are a combination of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate membranes. They are characterized by a smoother and more uniform surface than filters made of pure cellulose nitrate.

• The gridded surface (3.1 mm spacing) makes the filters ideal for counting colonies after incubation
• The color contrast of the filter also enables the detection of particles and minimizes eye fatigue
• A special, non-toxic ink is used that is completely free of bacterial growth inhibitors
