Mainly supports older methods. For many applications, the Waters Symmetry, Symmetry300, Atlantis and XTerra chemistries can be successfully used to isolate and analyze these biosubstances. However, for some applications, the large pores and high chemical stability of Waters BioSuite pC18 and pPhenyl resin-based packs are preferable. The Waters BioSuite RPC column range includes C18 (pC18) and phenyl (pPhenyl) columns bonded to a pH-stable methacrylic ester-based polymer resin. The 500 Angstrom particle size of the pC18 base matrix accommodates proteins up to 2,500,000 Daltons, while the 1,000 Angstrom particle size of the pPhenyl base matrix accommodates proteins up to 5,000,000 Daltons.
The BioSuite pC18, 2.5 µm NP column contains non-porous chemistry that provides better chromatographic resolution compared to chromatography on the porous pC18, 500, 7 µm RPC column. However, higher protein or peptide binding capacity is possible with the porous pC18, 500, 7 µm RPC column.
The pC18 and pPhenyl RPC columns are available as 21.5 x 150 mm columns for lab-scale isolations, while the 2.0 mm x 75 mm column is well suited for narrow-bore HPLC and/or LC-MS applications.
This BioSuite column from Waters is 250 mm long and has an inner diameter of 7.8 mm with a particle size of 5.0 µm.
