Nalgene ™ filter membranes
The Thermo Scientific ™ Nalgene ™ filter membranes are suitable for particle and microbiological analysis. The membranes are available in cellulose nitrate for water quality analysis, cellulose acetate for cold sterilization, nylon for solvent filtration or as a glass fiber prefilter for sample cleaning.

Cellulose acetate (CA)

• Excellent chemical resistance to alcohols and oils
• Excellent for cold sterilization of protein solutions
• Can be used for short-term contact with methyl ethyl ketone
• Suitable for liquid scintillation counts
• Can be used for direct observation can be made transparent with paraffin or almond oil
• Not sterile, autoclavable (it is essential to moisten the membrane before autoclaving)
